The Golftyn Government are very pleased to have booked our Rights Respecting School Silver Accreditation appointment for the 16th April 2024. We will be meeting with an assessor online to show the fantastic work the children of Golftyn do to understand and promote their rights.

Silver: Rights Aware is the second stage of the Rights Respecting Schools Award. It is granted by UNICEF UK to schools that show good progress towards embedding children’s rights in the school’s policy, practice and ethos, as outlined in the RRSA Strands and Outcomes.

Since 2020 our School Council’s focus has been promoting The Rights of a Child across Golftyn School.

We want children at Golftyn School to feel Happy, Healthy and Safe! 

Children have 42 rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

These 42 rights give children and young people what they need to grow up happily, healthily and safely.

In 2023 the older children completed a jambord to decide on the top 9 rights they felt were most important to them.

These rights are displayed around our school.
