Hello, Mr Hoyle here!
By way of background, I have been a primary school teacher since 2004, working in various schools within the UK, always with a particular focus on pastoral care and pupil well-being.
In recent years I have left full time teaching behind to concentrate on supporting our children’s mental health and well-being, this has included extensive training in children’s counselling skills with Place2be and I am currently studying an MA in Clinical Counselling at Chester University.
At Golftyn I support children predominantly in Progression Step 3, where we have an extensive range of programmes to help equip our children with the skills to navigate life’s difficult moments.
Hi, I am Ms Lomas
I started off at Golftyn almost 5 years ago as a classroom assistant and quickly realised my role in supporting childrens’ well-being was where I fit best.
During Covd I took the opportunity to do lots of training in this area and I now specialise in Trauma informed, mental health and emotional literacy as well as ELSA and general wellbeing. I am currently doing a part time degree in childhood studies and child psychology.
At Golftyn I support children from Reception to year 3, where I cross over with Mr Hoyle, to help them in the nurture, social, emotional, mental health and well-being areas.
For a child to be able to learn and be happy in school their emotional well-being and mental health must be functioning well, which is where I come in…
I run different programmes to help children with the range of difficulties they may face to help them cope better with life’s tricky moments. I have helped children who have had small social difficulties, through to family bereavement, anxiety, trauma issues, and much more. I am so passionate about helping our children with their wellbeing, so their school journey is as positive as it can be and the children can be as mentally well as they can be so they can learn at their best.
Ms Hall, Mr Hoyle and I am committed to helping our children at Golftyn be the happiest they can be and I feel very privileged to be part of the wellbeing team.
Hello! Let me introduce myself…
I’m Ms Hall. I am the Parental Engagement Worker at Golftyn CP School and I work within the Well-being Team alongside Mr Hoyle and Ms Lomas.
My role in school is to provide advice, support and information to the children and families within our school community. I can help you with any worries that you may have in relation to your child’s education, attendance, behaviour, attitude to learning and general wellbeing. I am also here as someone to talk to if you need it!
I can meet with you in school hours for a face to face chat or via the phone if you would prefer. You can also find me on the Junior gate every morning, along with Mr Hoyle.
You can find out lots more about the type of support available by clicking on the ‘supporting families’ link above!
My name is Reverend Piercy, I am a Year 3 teacher at Golftyn CP School and I also lead the whole school approach to emotional and mental wellbeing.
